| Abstract(in English) | Since Auqust 1998 we have carried out 21GHz band satellite broadcasting experiments using the COMETS's wideband and high-power transponder and multibeam antenna. The COMETS satellite broadcasting equipment (SBE) experimental subjects are to test the on-board transponder characteristics, such as transponder nonlinear amplification and multibeam antenna radiation patterns, and to demonstrate and evaluate wideband high-definition television (HDTV) transmission, and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) multiplexing of HDTV and computer data. This paper shows these experimental results and evaluations. |
