Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of the advanced mobile satellite communications experiments using the communications and broadcasting engineering test satellite (COMETS) is to develop basic technology and to assess the feasibility of future mobile and personal satellite communications in Ka and millimeter-wave bands. Although COMETS failed to attain a geostationary orbit, mobile satellite communication experiments in Ka and millimeter-wave bands were carried out. This paper describes the results of these experiments.
