Development of Klystron for Weather Radar Systems

Abstract(in English) Mitsubishi Electroc Corp. launched a klyston(PV-5101) for weather doppler radar systems used in domestic airports. The klystron has a frequency range of±50MHz with a center frequency of 5.3GHz, an output power of more than 200kW, a RF duty cycle of O.002, a saturated gain of more than 40dB and an efficiency of more than 35%. The klystron and the focusing magnet are forced air cooler.
