Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Dependence of interaction force among condensed polystyrene-latex (PSL) particles and atomic force microscope (AFM) tip on diameter of PSL particle are studied based on the force curve measurement in dry atmosphere. For the PSL particle from 42 nm to 1 μm in diameter, it is found that the dependence is different from that obtained from geometric mean radius DMT (Derjaguin - Muller - Toporov) theory. The empirical model, which includes the PSL particles deformation effect and contribution of surrounding PSL particles, is useful to explain the experimental results.
