Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) DVD-RW is the one of the re-writable discs and adopted on the phase change materials. It has been developed by using laser diode whose recording wavelength is 635nm. However, considering trends of the high power laser diode, it is desired to realize the feasibility of recording by 650nm laser diode. In this report, we have experimented the characteristics of playback signals in the recorded area with 650nm laser and the qualities of the pre-formatted signals, and compared with the case of using 635nm laser diode. From these investigations, we have confirmed the feasibility of DVD-RW media that is available for both recording wavelength.
