First Demonstration of YBa_2Cu_3O_x/SrTiO_3/La_xSr_<1-x>TiO_3PIN Heterojunction

Abstract(in English) Oxide superconductor materials attract much interest recently. Our own interest is directing to feasibility check of bipolar device concept of superconducting electronics. We have been studying oxide semiconductor materials and trying to fabricate PIN diode by oxide materials. Very recently success was obtained in getting clear rectifying property of p-(LiNi)O/i-STO/n-(LaSr)TiO3 PIN diode. Now we are trying to adopt YBa_2Cu_3O_x(YBCO) as the p-layer in order to examine if it is possible to produce semiconductor devices by oxide superconductor materials. As a result, we can obtain the rectifying property of the diode. Moreover, we can get a new information about the band gap of YBCO in the normal state.
