Abstract(in English) | At present, 50 NM of route spacing and 10 minutes of longitudinal time separation using the Mach number technique have been applied for the RNP-10 certified aircraft flying on the North Pacific (NOPAC) routes. Reducing longitudinal separation minima from 10 minutes to 50 NM distance based separation is desired. Prior to the implementation the separation minima, a safety assessment based on empirical data may be required. A longitudinal collision risk model is used for evaluating the safety level. This paper describes the mathematical model to be used for the safety assessment and discusses several issues on the method for estimating model parameters applicable for the NOPAC routes. |
