Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When the huge and complex systems are designed, constructed and run, they are required to be investigated in detail not to injure the public and the operators. Especially in plants and large-scale transport facilities like ships, severe accidents must not occur. The Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) method is introduced recently for assessment of large systems, in addition to the Deterministic Safety Assessment method. In this paper the PSA method is applied for the Titanic Accident to estimate the probability of occurring the accident through uncertainty analysis.
