Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a horse identification method using eye pattern as biometric signatures. Two features are used to identify horses. One is iris pattern and the other is granula iridica pattern. Iris pattern is modeled by two ellipses and encoded by quadrating 2-D Gabor coefficients. Granula iridica pattern is extracted by incremental edge detection method and vectorized by the collections of the brightness average of subregion. Both features show the apparent differences between imposters and authentics. Therefore we can identify horses with high accuracy by using two features collaboratively.
