Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a new method for continuous gesture recognition on an eigenplane (two-dimensional eigenspace). An image-based approach can calculate human body poses in motion from image sequences. The eigenplane is composed of training gestures and it is divided into the region in the every gesture. An unknown gesture is projected onto the eigenplane and is recognized continuously in which region it belongs to without the gesture segmentation. Experiments for the continuous gesture show our method is useful.
