Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, the problem of diffraction of a scalar plane wave (an acoustic plane wave) by a rectangular aperture in an infinitely large rigid screen with finite thickness is numerically studied using rigolous formulas derived by the method of the Kobayashi potential (KP method). The determinantal equation for the expansion coefficients in the expression of diffracted waves includes double infinite integrals and double infinite series, and these are calculated efficiently with required accuracy by applying the asymptotic approximation of Bessel function. We present numerical results of the transmission cross section (transmission coefficient) as a function of the screen thickness for various kinds of incident angles and hole sizes, and they are compared with those of the thick slit.
