Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a new all-optical wavelength conversion scheme using a Fabry-Perot type semiconductor optical amplifier(FP SOA). This scheme utilized the shift of gain spectrum of FP SOA accompanying the injection of light. It has many advantages such as ease of fabrication, sub-milliwatt input power, polarity-non-inverted operation and good compatibility with the WDM system. We demonstrated its 2.5Gb/s polarity-non-inverted operation and 2Gb/s polarity-inverted operation. Moreover, we developed a useful simulation method based on the time-dependent transfer matrix method.
