Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many researches for automatic detection of ships from remotely sensed images have been done. Detection of ship wakes which are produced by moving ships is one of the methods for the task. In many conventional ship wake detection systems, techniques based on Radon(Hough) transform have been applied. But those methods have searched in the three dimensional feature space consisted of by the parameters of segments. As a result, those methods require enormous time to calculate. In this paper, we propose a fast ship wake detection method based on 2D-FFT, that searches in each dimensional feature space independently and reduce space for detection and total detection time consequently. It is confirmed by computer simulations that the detection time of proposed method is 17 times faster than conventional one in case of 256×256 images.
