Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Software radio base- and personal-station prototypes have been implemented and evaluated. The prototypes can cope with various modulation schemes, some of which are the 384 kbit/s air bit rate PHS and the other lower air bit rate system. The base station can be use as a communication bridge between two services as well. An over-the-air software download function has been implemented. The feasibility in three beneficial functions of the software radio: (1) multimode operation, (2) wireless communication system upgrades, and (3) dynamic changing of transmission scheme, was studied and demonstrated.
