Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an OFDM-oriented link adaptation scheme with new frequency-domain-based link quality estimation functions. System throughput of an OFDM system can be enhanced by using link adaptation; an optimal set of modulation scheme and FEC coding rate is adaptively selected to achieve the required PER before ARQ. An essential technical challenge in applying link adaptation in practice is how to estimate the link quality precisely. This paper introduces two link quality estimation funtions for the CNR and delay spread of the communication channel. It is shown that they achieve a good estimate of link quality in broadband wireless access. The functions are calculated during OFDM-related processing and are simple to implement.
