Abstract(in English) | We performed environmental reliability and mechanical reliability tests of the injection molded plastic ferrules for SC-type fiber-optic connector. Experimental conditions were referred to the single-fiber connector specification and the Bellcore specification. There were no large variations in return and connection losses in the all environmental reliability tests. Vibration, impact and mating cycle teste were performed to confirm the mechanical durability. The plastic ferrules also showed no significant change and degradation of optical properties in the mechanical reliability tests. |
