Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Rechargeable zinc air battery is an attractive battery system because it provides a high specific energy with a low cost. The active materials are oxygen in the air and zinc, both of which are available everywhere and are environmentally benign. Both electrical and mechanical charging methods have been developed. This study reports the recent activities in improving the limited cycle life and power density. It shows promise to use a graphitized carbon substrate and pasted zinc-oxide for positive and negative electrodes, respectively.
