Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To clarify how the asymmetry of distribution of sound pressure amplitude relates to the size of turned electrode on an ultrasonic circular transducer of plane-type, measurement of the distribution with a hydrophone has been performed. It is shown that the distribution is asymmetrical and the peak on the distribution shifted from the transducer center toward the opposite side of the turned electrode in the radial direction. Decrease in amplitude appears clearly in the cases of large size of turned electrode and at a closer field to the transducer. This decrease is caused from the effect due to the increase in the radial length of turned electrode rather than the angle. Calculated sound pressure from Rayleigh's formula with distribution of velocity amplitude measured on the transducer surface shows the same tendencies as the experimental results for both decrease in amplitude of sound pressure amplitude and appearance of peak at the opposite side to the turned electrode. Then the present study is useful in describing asymmetrical characteristics of a sound field generated by a transducer with a turned electrode.
