Abstract(in English) Obstacle detection systems along roadsides are one of the basic technologies that are to be used in Intelligent Transport Systems(ITS) so as to ensure safe driving. We have developed a new detection algorithm that uses millimeter-wave FM-CW radar system, as one of studies on obstacle detection systems. In this paper, we report the design of detection algorithm using millimeter-wave radar, the evaluation of the radar system in a severe environment, and the performance of obstacle detection.
