On the Self-Similar Nature of Multimedia Traffic in Cellular Systems

Abstract(in English) As packet switching service using portable phones has started, it is expected that the traffic will show self-similar nature in cellular systems just as in wired networks. It this paper, we propose a multimedia service model which is much more realistic, and discuss which system will be able to suppress the self-similarity, TDMA, CDMA or TDMA / CDMA.
