A Study on Uplink Access Scheme for Asymmetric Radio Communication Systems using OFDM Technique

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an orthogonal frequency division multiple access / time division duplex(OFDMA / TDD) based asymmetric wireless access scheme to support wireless multimedia communication services. In the proposed system, radio of the downlink and uplink radio resource is adaptively controlled according to the traffic conditions. As the access scheme for the uplink, the proposed scheme employs OFDMA in which a certain number of OFDM subcarriers are randomly selected, where one of them are used to transmit information for the selected subcarriers and the others are used for message transmission. Subcarriers transmitted by the same terminal are demodulated using FFT. On the other hand, the inter-subcarrier interference between terminals is mitigated by packet retransmission because such interference can be regard as a kind of packet collision. Computer simulation confirms that the proposed system achieves good average delay preformances.
