Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a first step of investigation on frequency-power efficiency of digital radio employing nonlinear transmitting amplifiers, performance of a multichannel 4PSK system is analyzed with the following conclusion. OQPSK is optimum modulation scheme in a system with low frequency efficiency. With high frequency efficiency, QPSK, OQPSK and π / 4QPSK have almost same power efficiency. The power efficiency decreases generally with the increasing frequency efficiency. In a system using the optimum modulation scheme, decrease of power efficiency due to increase of frequency efficiency is large in a high SNR system in which linearization of transmitting amplifier gives improvement of power efficiency.
