Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical code division multiplexing(OCDM)provides useful approaches to optical networking due to its unique nature of asynchronous transmission, high information security, tell-and-go access protocol, and high scalability. The applications range from point-to-point transmission, multiple access, and optical transport networks. All optical code conversion will play important roles in photonic network nodes and phonic label switching router. All-optical code conversion of 10 Gb / s BPSK codes without wavelength-shift by use of cross-phase modulation in an optical fiber for optical code division multiplexing networks is proposed and experimentally demonstrated.
