Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Stories in a fantasy world enable children to inspire their creativity. This paper proposes an interactive animation system where users can enjoy exploring a fantasy world using a sensor-stuffed doll. The basic framework for designing the system is described. The doll can modify the fantasy story and conduct as the guide for users as well as being the friendly-interaction media (reactor) conveying to users a reaction from fantasy world. The assumption of indirect interaction between users and the fantasy world is expected to facilitate users to interact with the doll and have some fun delving into the mysteries and understand the author's intentions in the world. The experiment system and a stuffed doll are developed based on "Youkai" --a traditional Japanese monster -- inside a fantasy world which is based on an a folktale in ancient Japan. An exhibition of the system collects interesting feedback from visitors of the system in terms of their interests that would serve as a basis for further development.
