Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed a prototype of real time multiple moving objects tracking system which detects 3D positions of these moving objects, sends these information to a PC in a distant location through computer network. First, moving objects regions are extracted using a background subtraction processing. Next, each region is divided using a "position information histogram". Then, multiple moving objects are independently tracked by locus of the center of gravity of each region. To solve the problems of the background subtraction processing method, that is, the automatic regeneration of background image, and the noise region detection due to unexpected movement of background objects and illumination change, we newly propose a background image update by the divided region. Experimental results using indoor scenes show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
