Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The RLGS method is a very promissing DNA analysis tool capable of scanning DNA sequences in a very efficiently fashion. We propse a new algorithm based on multi-level thresholding (MLT) as a preprocessing module for estimating DNA fragment spots quantitatively in a given RLGS profile image. It is shown that the propsed algorithm can extract individual regions containing spots so that the parameters defining these spots can eventually be estimated via a nonlinear optimization method.
