Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With the increasing demand for IP telephony services using VoIP technology, techniques for monitoring the quality of real-time application services are required in order to manage the quality of services (QoS) constantly on a call-by-call basis. In IP telephony services, non-intrusive QoS monitoring methods using passive network performance measurement is have been developed. However in video communication services, the accuracy of video quality estimation using network performance metrics is not sufficient, and one packet loss influence to following picture frames because of intra-frame prediction encoding. We propose the invalid frame rate which is the metric considering type of picture frame to estimate video quality, and propose the estimating model of video quality using the metric. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms achieving sufficient accuracy for use in quality monitoring of video communication services.
