Abstract(in English) JPEG2000 Part6, which enables to combine picture/graphic/text objects into page images with various encoding method suitable for each objects, is expected to achieve high compression ratio in document images. However, in order to distribute and browse combined images, we need much processing time to transfer, decode, and compose many objects. In this paper, we propose a fast downscaling and synthesizing method of image objects, that generates downscaled thumbnails of compound images by synthesizing objects on the downscaled image buffer in parallel with decoding and scaling mask images. Additional, we also developed a caching method of transferred code data and previously-synthesized images, and improved the response of scrolling magnified images.
