Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A novel visual secret sharing scheme, which is based on void-and-cluster halftoning technique, is proposed for binary halftone images. In conventional methods, there are problems in picture quality of share images or processing times. The proposed method is designed to decode the secret image by overlapping two share images with high speed and quality by inheriting characteristics of void-and-cluster halftoning method, which has features of a simple thresholding operation using a dither array constructed beforehand and high picture quality avoiding artifacts. (2, 3) or (3, 3) visual cryptography by visual secret share images are also proposed by extending the void-and-cluster method. Computer simulation shows that the proposed method can generate subjectively high quality share images and give desirable power spectrum characteristics from the view point of noise perception of human visual system.
