Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) TCP-SACK and RLC provide reliable deliver service for the higher layer through the use of a sliding window mechanism that integrates ARQ with selective retransmission, cumulative acknowledgement (C-ACK) and flow control functions (called selective retransmission window protocols). In this paper, we propose an analytical performance model in the heavy traffic case, which represents these functions adequately, and derive throughput and mean resequencing delay, which are fundamental quality of service parameters. Comparing the performance values obtained from traditional models excluding the C-ACK function with those from our model, we show that the throughput restraint effect and resequencing buffer's queueing size limitation effect, which are caused by the C-ACK function, are not negligible when the frame loss rate is high.
