A Dynamic Optical Wavelength Path Establishment Scheme with Low-Blocking Probability in WDM Networks

Abstract(in English) In WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) networks, the Routing and Wavelength Assignment (RWA) problems is pointed out i.e., connection requests are blocked due to the inconsistency between wavelength and route. In this paper, we purpose a new optical wavelength path establishment scheme for achieving low-blocking probability. The proposed scheme is to establish an optical path by searching a route from source and destination nodes, where a wavelength is available. When intermediate node on the least-hops route releases wavelengths, the node sends the message on available wavelength to the source node, which met the blocking at the last path establishment trial. The source node establishes an optical path by adopting the wavelength and the route. Without blocking wavelength reservation fail, the destination node establishes optical path to source node on the least loaded route. Our method shows lower blocking probability than existing methods.
