Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Communications Research Laboratory (CRL) proposed the QHD (Quadruple HDTV: 3840* 2048 pixels) format, which has twice as much pixels in both vertical and horizontal directions. Both CRL and Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. have co-developed camera system and projector with the QHD format to execute the subjective evaluation and verify the effectiveness. Also, we authors has been conducted high-speed and wide area transmission experiments corresponding to next generation network technology by IPv6, jointly with some carriers and universities all over Japan from the end of 2000. Based on these experiments, we will consider about two themes, that is non-compression IP transmission of QHD video image and compression IP transmission of them using JPEG2000. To verify them we used two systems with cluster PC and graphic ws.
