Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) 3D videos provide free view points of object in real-time. Since each frame in 3D videos is generated independently, they don't have topological correspondence with each other. In addition, 3D videos record object's full shape and texture information requiring large amount of storage. For these reasons, it is necessary to develop a compression scheme of 3D videos robust to topological change. In this paper, we propose a 3D video compression algorithm by extending the block matching algorithm employed in conventional 2D video compression.
