Abstract(in English) | In our daily-life communication both vocal (auditory) and facial (visual) information transmit the emotion of a speaker and his/her emotion is recognized. Meanwhile, it has been reported that there are cultural similarities and differences in expression and recognition of emotion. The present study reported that the role of vocal expression in the recognition of emotion, especially in the case of the discrepancy of vocal and facial emotion, and how cultural similarities and differences between a speaker and an observer, who are Japanese and American, influence the recognition of emotion. |
