Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We assumed that a semantic representation of a sentence is a complex concept formed by repeated integration of the constituent schema into the head schema. We proposed a model of sentence comprehension with checking of consistency between the constituent schema and the requirement for the integration of it into a slot of the head schema. If the requirement is not satisfied, selectional-restriction of the slot is extended in order to be coherent with comprehender's world knowledge, and then the consistency is checked again. In order to validate this model, the experiment which measured time to comprehend the sentences was carried out. The results of this experiment supported the model. |
