Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We analyze the summarization methods used in captioning for the hearing impaired people to see what is being said on the screen on the spot in real time. Such captioning is divided into two kinds manual captioning and personal computer-based captioning. We focus upon the latter and examine what kinds of summarization methods are used. We also discuss the importance of recording the results of such captioning and building a database, and propose how it should be done.
