Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Japan, the Japanese transcription of proper nouns, such as a Chinese name of a person and the name of a place, is carrying out by Japanese reading of a Chinese character in many cases. And since a common standard does not exist in it, the confusion has been cassed not only in domestic communication but also in international communication because it completely differs from the original Chinese pronunciation. In order to remove such confusions, we will introduce "j-pinyin, which is a new Japanese kana notation of all Chinese syllables. The background and the ohjective of the j-pinyin are firstly surveyed. Next, the first edition of the j-pinyin is described. The results of listening experiments conducted in order to verify the validity of the j-pinyin are finally reported.
