Optimum filter spectrum shape for ultimate spectral efficiency in DWDM systems

Abstract(in English) The optimum filter response shape was investigated from the view point of ultimate spectral efficiency. The bit rate and the wavelength channel spacing were optimally designed to minimize both the interchannel crosstalk and the intersymbol interference. The cascaded filter of Gaussian and quadrature spectra enables a high spectral efficiency and a large tolerance for filter response.
