Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigate the generalization of motor learning in the time minimizing task of human reaching movements. Given no instruction, subjects generated trajectories that were different from a minimum-movement-time trajectory but were very similar to a minimum-commanded-torque-change trajectory. The subjects were trained to minimize the movement duration of a reaching movement for a certain initial and target points by some instruction, and it was tested whether they generated minimum-movement-time trajectories for different initial and target points. When given instruction about only kinematics, the generalization was not found in the motor learning. On the other hand, when given instruction about both kinematics and dynamics, the subjects mastered motor skill and some generalization was found.
