Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Theta phase precession in rat hippocampal neuron is known as a phase shift of I firing relative to theta rhythm during, traversing the place field. Yamaguchi et al. proposed the two components hypothesis where the phase shift is restricted into half theta cycle accompanied by other component in the other half cycle. The present paper shows that the experience dependent plasticity of the theta phase precession is observed around the phase shift component in the half theta cycle and that the other component shows no change. These results support the validity of the two components hypothesis. |
