Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a new diversity scheme for indoor wireless networks equipped with switched-beam antennas. Frames are split up and transmitted over different routes resulting from coordinated switching of the transmitter and receiver side beam patterns. The splitting schemes maximizing the outage capacity are formulated on the basis of the known average gains of the routes. We find that in the case of two routes experiencing Rayleigh fading, gains of up to 2 dB in the high and 4 dB in the low SNR regimes can be attained by an optimal frame splitting at an outage probability of 0.1.
