Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Broadband packet access techniques will be required for the next generation mobile communications systems. Hybrid ARQ (HARQ) is one of the promising error control techniques. Recently, LDPC coding is gaining much attention. Multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA), which uses a number of subcarriers to reduce the ISI resulting from frequency selective channels, has been attracting a lot of attention. In this paper, we consider LDPC-coded HARQ for an MC-CDMA system and evaluate, by the computer simulation, its throughput in a frequency selective fading environment. It is shown that the use of larger spreading factor gives higher throughput unlike turbo-coded HARQ and the type II HARQ provides a good throughput. It is also shown that the LDPC-coded HARQ has a possibility to provide a better throughput performance than turbo-coded HARQ.
