Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has become a popular technique because of its robustness against multipath fading and high bandwidth efficiency. However, OFDM signals have a critical drawback; their peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is very high compared to that of single-carrier signals. The clipping method is a popular approach to coping with such problem. However, as the transmission rate increases, clipping distortion becomes dominant and causes a burst error. In this paper, we propose the use of Reed-Solomon code to mitigate this problem. It is shown that judicious selection of the code parameters can improve the overall system performance.
