Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In road-to-vehicle communication (RVC) systems, real-time and accurate communications are required in case of sharing safety information such as speeds and locations among vehicles. However, the shadowing caused by large-sized vehicles deteriorates its communication quality. Hence this paper proposes the joint inter-vehicle and road-to-vehicle communication system. In the proposed system, only an large-sized vehicle mounts RVC device because of its low shadowing rate, and the safety information from other standard-sized vehicles are transfered to the large-sized vehicle by using inter-vehicle relay. Computer simulations considering traffic flow model show that the proposed system can largely reduce the link blocking rate compared to RVC system and expand the communication area extremely.
