Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Coherent detection of received signals is required for turbo decoding. In this paper, we combine iterative channel estimation with Turbo decoding. Two combinations are considered in this paper. One is called outer-turbo channel estimation (OTCE), in which iterative channel estimation is carried out before turbo decoding. The other is called inner-turbo channel estimation (ITCE), in which channel estimation is incorporated into turbo decoding process. The average BER performances with OTCE and ITCE over frequency nonselective Rayleigh fading channel with antenna diversity are evaluated by means of computer simulations. It is found that the ITCE is superior to the OTCE in a fast fading channel while OTCE and ITCE provides almost the same performance in a slow fading channel.
