Abstract(in English) | This paper presents that layer width modulated superlattices have a band structure which essentially consists of three kinds of bands in an energy axis same as the potential profile modulated superlattices. Two of them are passbands and stopbands as well as the periodic superlattices. The other is a class of bands which contain several sharp resonant peaks. This paper shows a close relation between the band structure of layer width modulated superlattices and that of periodic superlattices. According to the relation, the former can be estimated without direct calculation from the latter effectively evaluated by applying image parameter in circuit theory. |
