Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We previously proposed an all-optical analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion using the nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM). However this system required N-Encoders and N-Thresholders for N-bit A/D conversion because analog pulse was split into N pulses spatially. In this paper an all-optical A/D conversion using only one Encoder and one Thresholder with split-and-delay technique is proposed for simplification and stabilization. In Split-and-delay technique the Encoder and the Thresholder are operated N-times faster with temporally N-divided analog pulses. We experimentally demonstrated all optical 3-bit A/D conversion at 10-GS/s.
