Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We successfully fabricated a 100km-long, low loss (0.3dB/km at 1550nm) photonic crystal fiber (PCF). This is the longest PCF with very low loss so far reported. The fabricated PCF had the lowest Rayleigh scattering coefficient of 0.85dB/(km.μm^4). Using this fiber, we achieved the first penalty-free dispersion-managed soliton transmission at 10Gb/s.
