Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Non-zero dispersion shifted fiber with low dispersion slope (LS-NZDSF) is attractive for cost-effective transmission systems because dispersion compensation can be omitted over broad wavelength range even in 10Gbit/s transmission. However, LS-NZDSF also needs to be applicable to upgrade of transmission system to higher speed for continuous use as transmission lines. In this paper, we investigate application of LS-NZDSF to 40-Gbit/s transmission and easy-to-upgrade line configuration with low insertion loss DCF for LS-NZDSF.
