Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An element consisting of a slot and a circular post for canceling its reflection in a rectangular waveguide is analyzed simply by the method of moments. The current on the post has strictly the circumferential component as well as the axial one because of the three-dimensional structure of the element. However the post location for reflection-canceling is far enough from the slot to neglect the amplitude of the circumferential component coupling with the higher modes of the waveguide in the analysis. It is sufficient to assume only the axial component coupling with the modes uniform along the narrow wall. Time number of the basis functions of the current can be small so that the calculation time is reduced. The post location is determined by this analysis for a transverse slot and a logitudinal one, respectively. Measured results using 4 GHz-band standard waveguides reveal that the assumption of uniform line current on the surface of the post is acceptable.
